Slicewise privacy policy
Slicewise ("the game") is published by Sjouheim, Denmark, which is responsible for the game. Contact: sjouheim@takrye.com.
The short version
The game has no accounts. Your progress stays on your phone. If you agree, the game sends us anonymous play totals (how many shapes were cut, how close the cuts were, how long you played). It asks once, after your first cut, and nothing is counted or sent unless you say yes. Google's advertising service uses some data to show ads, and in the EU, the UK and Switzerland it asks for your consent first.
What the game stores
The game asks for no name, email address or other personal details. Your progress (scores, stars, streak, settings and whether you own the unlimited-retries purchase) is stored only on your device. We cannot see it. Deleting the game deletes it.
Play statistics
- What is sent: totals of how the game was played on your device since the last send, for example how many shapes were cut and how close the cuts were, which packs and screens were used, how long you played, how many ads were shown, how fast the game loaded and whether it closed unexpectedly; plus coarse facts about the device (memory size group, screen size group, system version group, language, light or dark theme). No name, account, advertising identifier, device identifier or other identifier is included, and no single action is recorded with a time.
- When: only after you have said yes; then when you leave the game and about once a minute while you play.
- Why: to balance the game and find bugs, crashes and slow devices.
- Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a), and the Danish rules on storing information on your device). The game asks once, after your first cut, with "Yes" and "No" side by side; until you say yes, nothing is counted, stored on your device or sent, and the game works the same whatever you answer. The totals do not identify you; sending them necessarily shows your device's IP address to our server for the moment of the connection, and our service does not keep it.
- Your choice: change your answer at any time under "Play statistics" in the game's menu. Switching off withdraws your consent and deletes totals not yet sent; it does not affect what was sent before.
- Who receives it: Sjouheim's own analytics service, Sjouheim Pulse, hosted for us by Microsoft (Azure) in the EU.
- How long: the totals are added to totals from all players for the day and kept in that combined form only.
Advertising
The game shows rewarded ads through Google AdMob, provided by Google Ireland Limited (in the EU) and Google LLC, when you choose to watch one for another try at a shape.
- What is used: Google and its advertising partners may collect and use information from your device, such as its advertising identifier, IP address, general location derived from the IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads.
- Why: to show ads, to measure them, to limit how often you see the same one, and to prevent fraud. With your consent, also to show ads chosen for you.
- Legal basis: in the EU, the UK and Switzerland the game asks for your consent before any ad is requested (GDPR Article 6(1)(a), and the Danish rules on storing information on your device). Without that consent Google may still show limited, non-personalised ads, using information only as far as needed to deliver them and prevent fraud (GDPR Article 6(1)(f), our and Google's legitimate interest in funding a free game and in keeping ads honest).
- Your choice: you can change or withdraw your consent at any time under "Ad privacy choices" in the game's menu. Withdrawing does not affect what was done before. On iOS you are also asked whether the game may track you across other apps; ads still work if you decline.
- Who receives it: Google, and the advertising partners named in the consent form.
- Outside the EU: Google may process the information in the United States and other countries. Google relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses for such transfers.
- How long: Google keeps it as described in its own policies. We receive none of it.

Purchases
The unlimited-retries purchase is handled by Google Play or the App Store under their own privacy policies. The game never sees your payment details; it only learns whether the purchase was completed.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to have it moved to another service, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because the game keeps your data on your device and sends us only totals that do not identify you, we hold nothing about you that we could look up, correct or delete. For what Google holds about you through ads, use the choices in the game's menu or contact Google through the pages above. You can always write to us at the address above, and you may complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, www.datatilsynet.dk) or to the authority where you live.
No decisions with legal or similarly significant effects are made about you by automated means. You are not required to give any personal data to play the game.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date.
